SPCC is very excited to be able to once again host a “Dragon Tour” exchange trip to China. In 2019, we brought 37 SPHS students to Nanjing China for the experience of a lifetime. And then in June 2024, we took 46 high school students and 45 middle school students to Wuxi and Nantong. The Dragon Tour has been a recurring trip to China for over 30 years with SPCC. For these last 3 Dragon Tours, SPCC and SPHS has teamed up with Jiangsu Education Services for International Exchange (JESIE). China has very much welcomed our group of top South Pasadena students to their beautiful Jiangsu Province to truly experience Chinese culture, language and education. We are thrilled to once again offer this amazing opportunity to South Pasadena High School students.

ELIGIBILITY
- Current SPHS students in any grade who have not yet had a chance to go on a Dragon Tour;
- Current SPHS students who attended the Dragon Tour 2024 may apply for a very limited number of Leadership Spots for the 2025 trip;
- Priority given to students who have never been to China/HK/Taiwan;
- Priority given to students who are at least 2nd generation Chinese on both sides of the family and students who are not Chinese (meaning, students who do not have a parent who was born in China/HK/Taiwan);
- Students do not need to be in a Chinese language class or speak any Mandarin;
- Students must be in good standing with no behavioral concerns or major medical concerns;
- Students must have an interest in Chinese culture, education, or language.
TRIP COST
- $100 Registration Fee to JESIE (the organization that works with the Jiangsu Educational Department)
- Valid current passport and Visa to China
- Plane Ticket cost – students and parents may work Tiger Bingo to help cover this cost and China may pay for a portion of this cost as well but that amount is not yet determined.
- Otherwise, China pays for hotels, luxury travel bus, all meals, water/snacks, admission fees to gardens and museums and other cultural experiences, any other needed expense, etc
Please note that the Dragon Tour 2025 Application Form opened at 9pm on Friday December 13th, 2024, and closed at 10pm on Friday January 3rd, 2025.
